MK Bailey is a Washington, D.C. based painter whose work deals with themes of nostalgia, dream vs. reality, and the violence between humans and nature.

Bailey’s recent solo exhibitions include “Ghosts” at Workhouse Arts Center and “Secret Garden” at IA&A Hillyer, which was reviewed in the Washington Post. Her next solo exhibition will be at Transformer in 2024.

Bailey has been an artist-in-residence at Hillwood Museum, the Peter Bullough Foundation, and Capitol Hill Arts Workshop. She is a repeat recipient of D.C.’s Commission on the Arts and Humanities Fellowship, and a 2022 Trawick Prize finalist. Bailey holds a B.A. in Studio Art from the University of Virginia.
