Founded in 2000 by Dr. Sachiko Kuno and Dr. Ryuji Ueno, S&R Evermay (Originally S&R Foundation) is a 50l(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C . Its mission is to promote transformative societal impact for this generation and the next. We encourage individuals in the greater Washington, DC area, and other strategic locations, to collaboratively develop innovative solutions to real-world problems.

S&R Evermay is devoted to educating, encouraging and recognizing talented emerging innovators, scientist and artists whose talents contribute to improved global, cultural and scientific understanding. To support this mission, S&R Evermay sponsors two annual awards: the Washington award – recognizing talented artists in music, dance, and visual arts, and the Kuno awards – for women using scientific research and principles to address a 21st Century problems. In addition to our annual awards, we host numerous concerts, seminars and programs that encourage scientific innovation and artistic excellence while promoting cultural diversity, personal growth and collaboration. By supporting individuals and enabling their growth and success within various communities, S&R Evermay nurtures their ability, in turn, to enrich society with the fruits of their hard work and dedication.

We believe strongly in preserving unique and historic spaces for the use of future generations because we know that bringing people into these spaces can inspire creative thinking, lead to important conversations and further cultural collaboration. By locating its headquarters at the Evermay estate, we hope to continue to inspire guests, performers, and awardees for years to come.
